I have a recipe that calls for Coopers Real Ale extract, but I would like to use grains and my own hops instead.  Doe's anyone know of a good conversion from this extract to grain.

What style are you making? Coopers real ale is hopped, I have used a prehopped extract twice and never really liked them. I've found that books are the best way to develop recipes. I will find a style ,find three or four recipes and create my own. Without knowing more I would say like Bonjour, a 2 row and maybe a 10l crystal malt to keep the color light. Investigate your style to come up with your hops.
Good luck.
