New here, but brewing for 15 years (extract and steeping only)
Just bought Beer Smith to convert Pliny the Elder to a single IPA.(too expensive)
Love my 13% alc beers in the winter.
Grow my own hops and try various combinations, including 100 year old wild hops.

Back at ya from NE Oregon.....

Pliny the Elder may be expensive to brew, but IMHO well worth it! Best IPA in the world.
I would, however, like to know how your conversion turns out.... so plz keep us posted!

I (after brewing several Plinys) have found that the FWH tends to take the sharpness off of the beer, so I skip (really just wait till the boil) this step. And the CTZ / Simcoe additions seems to be the key to Pliny's flavors.

Let us know how this turns out and POST YOUR RECIPE!
