Fist taste of the great peat malt experiment. It is really good. The smoke is in the backround it is not overpowring at all. It has a good earthy quality and a very nice malty taste.

test 1 after 1 week in the bottle.

After 2 weeks. I don't think it can get any better  :-*

I am sipping one right now and love it. I think the great peated malt test is a success   ;D

Don:

Any updates on the Scotch Ale?  Any left?  How much peated malt did you use for your batch?   Just wondering as I am interested in making one in the next week or so.

I do still have some left.  I have been hording it from the neighbors.   ;D

It is really good.  I used 1 lb of peat.  Everybody said that was way to much but I think it is great.  It has a great maltiness and the smoke lets you know it is there but it does not overpower you.

I think I will make it the same next time.
