I'm new to beer smith and setting up my first recipe. I'm not understanding the equipment set up. Let me start with what I'm using.
I have a 20 gal. boil pot and a 10 gal. cooler. But I'm only doing 5 gal. batches. Do I choose the Pot and Cooler 10 gal. then adjust the batch volume to 5 gal. under fermenter/bottling volumes and save this as my custom profile? Or am I missing the boat completely? Thanks

Hi
The critical item will be to set up the larger mash tun weight as it is used for adjusting your mash temperatures of equipment.

I would probably copy one of the closely related profiles, and then adjust the volumes and losses to match your settings.  I have quite a few links in the FAQ explaining how to go through each field and adjust things.
