I want to make a red rye Im doing all grain
what can i use to give my beer a redish/amber color

pale malt 2 row
rye malt or should i use flakes

I agree with the "Red is just a pale brown" comment...  Weyermann has a CaraRed malt, claims to give a red hue.  I haven't used it yet, but I really like Weyermann malts so far:

Melanoidin also gives a red hue.  As does roasted barley but you can't use much without that flavor coming thru.
 
beet juice? don't use too much or it might taste funny though  :p
 
you will want malts like crystal 120 and some crystal 40. You could also add a little roasted barley or light pale chocolate.
