Advice on this Irish Red recipe?

DesMoinesBrewer

I'm brewing Sunday and am going to try an Irish Red recipe I generated in BeerSmith. Comments and suggestions appreciated!   ;D

10 Gallon Batch

14.5 # Pale malt UK 3 SRM
4.5 # Munich malt 10 SRM
1.0 # Biscut malt 23 SRM
1.0 # Caramel/Crystal malt 120
1 oz. Challenger for 60 minutes
1 oz. East Kent Goldings for 45 minutes
White Labs Irish Ale WLP004

Single step mash for 60 mins @156 F.

add a little (1 or 2 oz.) of debittered black malt such as Carafa special 2 or 3 (Weyerman)  to get a red color.

The style guidelines for the IRA is 9 - 18 SRM, so you're in the right range with what you have. From that point, in my opinion it becomes a matter of personal preference, or what ever looks appealing to your eye. I've recently brewed an IRA that is still in the secondary but is looking like it will be a really good beer. I believe that my SRM came in around 15.8 or so and has a few more grains then what I would typically use, but the proof is in the results. If you brew it, let me know how it turns out for you.
