Pumpkin beer, priming with brown sugar?

M

mark Hayden

What do ya'll think about priming with brown sugar in pumpkin? I'm combining two recipes into one that I think will do good.

Brown sugar is table sugar with the addition of a bit of molasses.

What is served by adding a tablespoon of molasses to five gallons of beer?

That and if you don't pack the heck out of it you will not get the equivalent of same volume table sugar.

If you do it I'd suggest you weigh it instead of measuring by volume.

Thanks, I think I'll just blow it off and use my regular brewers sugar. Just saw it in a recipe and thought....huh.
