Both cara-pils and lactose bump up OG and change the est. ABV% (lactose especially). carapils only enhances body and head retention, while lactose enhances body and adds residual sweetness..

i brewed a recipe using carapils and missed my gravity by 0.002 points (not a big deal but wondered why). a couple days later i checked the settings and saw the error. i lowered the carapils fermentability/yield and the OG went down by the amount i missed so i hit dead on.

as far as lactose, i believe it will and should boost up the OG due to the added sugars present but since it is not fermentable it should not change the ABV percentage at all correct?

is there a way i can change the setting where it boosts the OG as it should but does not affect the ABV percentage?
