Priming sugar amounts for kegging / bottling

Hi,
I part keg and part bottle my brews. So I prime the whole batch, fill the keg and put the remainder into bottles.
But in the priming sugar calculations, the amount of sugar for kegging is shown as being half of the amount for bottling. I would have thought they'd be the same. Am I doing something wrong or is there some reason for this?
Thanks
