Carbonation and Recipe

When I select a carbonation profile that requires adding an ingredient like dme, corn or table sugar, honey, etc, why not have that ingredient and quantity added to the recipe automatically?  It took me a while to realize that my recipe stats weren't accurate until I manually added that priming ingredient.  I'm not sure why but I assumed the software was taking care of that for me.
