Hello,
I am considering adding some Agave nectar to my next batch of hefeweizen.  Is this a bad idea?  I have read mixed reviews on the web.  How would i enter this into my recipe on Beersmith?  I dont see it listed as an add-on ingredient.  Should I enter it as honey?

I am looking for a backdrop of complexity on this beer, not overwhelming it.  I am thinking of adding .5lb to a 5 gallon batch.  Ideas?

Thanks,

When adding agave nectar to your recipe, use the honey ingredient option in beersmith.  (start with 5-10% agave of the entire recipe)

If your looking to get some agave nectar flavor in your beer, be sure to add at the end of the boil or during whirlpool.

Adding too soon will boil off the agave flavor.

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers!
