Can anyone tell me why the BIAB Mash Profiles has a setting for the "Tun Temperature?"  The mash tun is typically the brew pot filled with all the strike water.  This setting has an effect on the temperature of the strike water and kind of skews the temperatures so you don't hit the desired mast temperature.  Seems like it should be removed for the BIAB Profiles.  Thanks.

Hi,
You generally don't need equipment adjustments with BIAB since you are heating the mash water in the pot itself.  So if you uncheck the box to adjust for equipment the setting is not needed.

However in cases where you might heat the water in a separate liquor tun (such as a conventional three vessel system) this setting can be used to help adjust for the heating needed to raise the mash tun temp up (equipment adjustment).
