Boil Volume too low

This problem is driving me slowly mad and any assistance would be much appreciated.

Post mash, I lose 3.45L due to grain absorption on a 4kg grain bill.

Beersmith only accounts for 2.45L loss in the Brew Steps.

I've tried everything. I've searched everywhere. I'm sure it's a simple thing I'm doing wrong but please help!

Nigel, click on Tools\options\advanced options and adjust the first box which is grain absorption.

I'd wonder why you're losing 40% more than the standard absorption rate and look for other losses that might fit better in dead space loss, or elsewhere.

It's a pain, but confirming the volumes and entering them correctly into brewing software is more than half the battle.
