Howdy y'all. I made wine for years, but by Christmas 2 years ago,we started talkin about brewing beer & how it was done nowadays. Got on youtube & watched videos,& decided on Cooper's micro brew kit. Progressed to making up my own extract recipies. Did my first partial mash on 10/9. It was midwest's cascade pale ale kit. Came out pretty darn good for my 1st try. Nailed the numbers in the middle of OG/FG range. I finally downloaded beersmith2,since hopville's beer calculus seemed inaccurate in terms of color & IBU's. Beersmith also seems a little light color-wise. But can't for the life of me find a place to tell this bloody thing I'm doing partial boils, regardless of brewing style.
