Hello!

I have been browsing the forum for a little while now and have been planning on getting into home brewing for over a year now.  I recently purchased a 5 gallon, basic starter set and have my second batch fermenting now.  I did a pretty basic ale to start and have a wheat beer fermenting now.

I look forward to getting better at this (I already learned that the turkey fryer is easier to use for boiling, and that a wort chiller is a necessity... mine will be here next week).

Thanks for the help that I'm sure Ill get from all of you in the coming years!

Welcome. Steps to brewing great beer:

Sanitation, sanitation, sanitation
Full wort boil

Truer words have not been written.  I would add:
Be consistent - volume measurements and temps.
Calibrate your equipment.
Make a yeast starter.
Have Fun!
