I have installed BS Lite on my google nexus s, and I tried to open a .bsmx recipe file from dropbox, but I get this message:

'Please download an app that can open this file'

What is wrong here...????

I think you have to go through the beersmith cloud and not dropbox, which dumbs the recipe down for the lite version.

The lite version works in conjunction with the desktop version and the cloud recipe service which is how the app is described on the Play app site.

To access your recipe, upload the recipe to your Beersmith cloud account then sign in with the Android app and access it from there.

Below are a coup[le links to describe what you can do with the lite mobile device app.

The Play store post says:

- Ability to store recipes you find locally or to your cloud account

I don't want to use the Beersmith cloud, but want to share my desktop recipes with the mobile client (for timers, brewday review, etc). Are you saying this isn't supported?

FYI I have an Owncloud installation and use Foldersync on Android to move files back and forth. All I should need to do is put the recipes in the correct location on Android so that Beersmith Mobile can find them.

There is supposed to be a full version out soon. If you feel like buying a 3rd copy.

Yeah, funny, not so much. If it was clear only the beersmith cloud is supported I would not have bought the app.
