Hi everyone,
I want to use this electric steam kettle for my mash tun.
A few things to note about it.
It holds up to 30 gal
It is steam jacketed and will hold a specified temp within a degree or two
I plan on getting a false bottom for it @14 " dia will leave 1 gal of liquid below the fb at 2 1/2 inches deep.
the drain is in the very bottom so it will drain completely
I plan on having the water in the unit already close to my strike temp
Any tips on how i should enter this info in BS2

Hi,
The volume is pretty easy to get right.  The only trick will be determining the specific heat to use.  Since it is stainless I would start with the stainless value of 0.12 and see how close you come in strike temp.  If you come in a bit low, up the mash tun specific heat for the next batch until you hit your temp.
