I want to get equal runnings into the kettle from both the mash and the sparge.
I checked the "use equal batch sizes" under Mash profiles.
For a 10 lb of grain batch I get mash with 3.125 gal and sparge with 4.39 gal, which seems really skewed considering grain absorption.

I believe you need to increase the water to grain ratio in the mash step to obtain what you are looking for.

Under the mash profile page, "Batch sparge options" in the % block for a 10 gallon batch I set mine at 50%.
For a 5 gallon batch try 75% for equal batch sparge steps.
I also select all 3 blocks.
This is assuming that you are batch sparging.
