Just spent the day creating a spreadsheet so I could order this year's ingredients. I had to track what was on hand, what needed to be ordered, and also which vendor had the best individual price as well as the best total price. It took all day.
Beersmith could handle recipe planning? Not sure if it does, not even sure if I've already suggested this.
-Ability to designate specific ingredients from inventory for a recipe. I'm sitting on dozens of types of specialty grains. I forget why I ordered the bunches from 2010.
-Beersmith could handle pricing, it could be user generated. When someone notices a price change they change it in the database that anyone can download. Beersmith could tally shopping lists against multiple vendors.
