Has anyone else ever used their propane burner to light charcoal for the BBQ? I just set my charcoal chimney on the burner.

nope.. never did that..  If you have a way of keeping briquettes inside the chimney it should work.

Make sure none fall out.. and hold a pan under the chimney as you transfer over to the none fall on the ground.

I have a combo gas/ charcol grill with a side burner. The side burner was designed to accomodate a starter chimney. I just set my loaded chimney over the side burner, ignite it and once the briquets start I move the chimney to a cement block next to the charcol side and wait till its ready. Works great and don't have to burn paper.

I don't know! But i have BBQ! that is my real opinion! i have it because it costs too much

I do it all the time when me and my fishing, hunting partner are out camping. Most of are trips included a lot of DUTCH OVEN cooking.
