All recipes GONE!

I have been using beersmith for years. I have updated without  problems and used the updates but when I just opened the app for the first time in a couple of months all of my recipes were gone.  Fortunately I have the beersmith lite on my cell phone and had a few recipes stored in the cloud but I lost recipes I have won awards for in the past.  I am one pissed off brewer.  Anyone out there have any ideas why they would simply be gone???

I should mention that I have not lost any recipes because they were printed but that's retyping more than 50 recipes.

Makes me want to research a way to do a backup.
I have the mobile version also and I've got some recipes there, plus a few saved to the cloud but I sure would hate to loose it all.

I need to research backup methods.
