Hi, after 7 years of brewing with spreadsheets I decided to give BeerSmith a try.
I batch sparge, and back when I started, I interpreted Denny Conn's batch sparge instructions to mean that the mash runnings and the batch sparge runnings should be of equal volume.
For better or worse, this method has worked well for me, and I'd like to stick with it.
In practice, this meant that I would adjust my mash water/grain ratio so that the mash runnings would be exactly half my pre-boil volume.
Is there any way to do this automatically in BeerSmith?
I can do it manually by fiddling with the water/grain ratio until "Mash In" - "Grain Absorption" = Batch sparge step, which is what I used to do with my spreadsheet, but automatically would be nice.
