I have been using V2.2.12 for quite a while, now have developed weird behavior. If I have a recipe open, then move my cursor to the tab section (my recipes, specific beers), a little box shows up attached to the pointer, and it will not respond to clicks. It also did things like substitute an apostrophe for a recipe name. Sometimes the whole thing locks up,  sometimes escape key stops the behavior but it will come right back, I am saving between every move now because I have lost data if I didn't.
Do I need to reinstall?

Off hand, it's hard to say if these issues are caused by BeerSmith or something in your operating system. However, you should backup the .../Documents/BeerSmith2 folder to preserve your recipes and custom profiles.

That said, it may be prudent to reload BeerSmith to eliminate it as a source for the hesitating behavior you're seeing.

Brad's outline for how to repair BeerSmith:

- Rename your "Documents/BeerSmith2" directory to something else like "OldBeerSmith" which saves your data
  - Make sure you have the latest version of BeerSmith 2 installed from the main download page
  - Restart BeerSmith2 - which will create a new BeerSmith 2 directory with the sample recipes in it
  - You will likely have to enter your registration key again
  - Once you have BeerSmith running again, use the Open command to open your old Recipe.bsmx file
that is now in your "OldBeerSmith" directory  and then copy/paste any recipes you need into
    your new "My Recipes" folder
  - You can do the same with Equipment.bsmx, Hops.bsmx, etc... if you have added items beyond
those that came with BeerSmith 2
  - If you can't open one of the files (Recipe.bsmx for example), you can also try opening the numbered
backups (Recipe1.bsmx, Recipe2.bsmx, etc...) - these contain older copies of the original.
  - Please keep your "OldBeerSmith" directory around (the one you renamed earlier) as it will have all of your data in it!

Hmm, I'm having the exact same issue. I did as BrewFun suggested but the same thing is happening. Pretty frustrating.
