Here is what I did.
I first made a 6 gallon standard oatmeal stout and got weak readings of 1.040 FG 1.020.
I made a similar recipe for 5 gallons and dumped it on the first batches yeast cake. That reading went OG 1.085 FG 1.012.
I let both sit on primary for 7 days then transferred each to a secondary to clear. After 10 days I transferred those to 2 5 gallon carboys to blend.
The reading on the blend is at 1.018. I plan to bottle tomorrow using DME.
I know that blending is often used in sours, but I had never heard of it being done in this way. Has anyone done this, and if so, what was the result? Kind of excited to see what I came up with.
