Ladies and Gents.....

I purchased Beersmith2 to convert a recipe for Troegs Perpetual from All Grain to Extract and I fell .014 short on my OG.
The original recipe is as follows:
Fermentable Amount Use PPG Color
Weyermann® Pilsner Malt 11.0 lb 81 % Mash 37 1 °L
Briess Munich Malt 10L 1.5 lb 11 % Mash 35 10 °L
Briess Caramel Malt 20L 1.0 lb 7 % Mash 34 20 °L
Hop Amount Time Use Form AA
Mount Hood (US) 1.0 oz 60 min Boil Pellet 6.0%
Chinook (US) 1.0 oz 35 min Boil Pellet 13.0%
Bravo (US) 1.0 oz 30 min Boil Pellet 13.0%
Mount Hood (US) 1.0 oz 1 min Boil Pellet 6.0%
Nugget (US) 1.0 oz 1 min Boil Pellet 13.0%
Cascade (NZ) 1.0 oz 10 days DH Pellet 5.5%
Citra (US) 1.0 oz 7 days DH Pellet 11.0%
Yeast - American Ale
My Conversion was as follows:
Extra Pale LME: 9 lb
Munich Malt: 8 oz
Crystal 20L Malt: 1 lb
All else the same. I'm assuming I didnt add enough fermentables.
Brew process was as follows:
5 Gallon Kettle
Start with 2 gallons water, steep grains
Add 1 gallon.... boil.....add LME
Boil...start 60 minute hop additions as scheduled
This yeilded approx 2 gallons of wort after 60 minutes
Added added 3 gallons of water to top off to 5 gallons before pitching(probably my first mistake but the recipe was for a 5 gallon batch). If I was .014 under, then it was probably 4 gallons or less that would have yeilded 1.074 as called out. Hardly worth the expense of buying the ingredients.
Additional info.....I mixed the crud out of it several times when measuring OG (took 3 readings). Its off to a full gallop right now in the fermenter so we'll see what my FG is in a few days.
Thanks for the help. j
