I concur. This appears to be the measured Pre-Boil gravity which indicates the quality or effectiveness of your mashing. The label is rather misleading.
When your boil is done and you measure the gravity going into the fermenter, this is the measured boil gravity OG (original Gravity).
When your fermentation is done and you measure your FG (Final Gravity) you can now determine the alcohol content, calories, carbs and attenuation.
