Big B
Brewer
I just finished a Belgian Dubble. This was the first beer I used yeast nutrient in. I had aerated my wort, and used a yeast starter in the past but in this brew I wanted to try the nutrient. Wow, this beer went crazy in fermentation. It stared quick and was done in less than four days. I used the WLP530. The uncarbonated wort tasted great, can't wait to try the finished product.
IMO the yeast nutrient combined with 20 min of aeration and the starter made what would have been a good beer into a potentially great beer. Is it all in my head or did this ferment so quickly because of the nutrient?
