Hi,
Here's another set of fixes for BeerSmith 2.3 including scaling reports.  You can now set the size of reports (including brew steps) on the Print Preview window pane in My Recipes view and print them from there if you want smaller/larger printouts.  Additional details about changes here: http://beersmith.com/beersmith-2-3-software-change-log/

Note the scaling percentage is in the preview window pane (bottom half of window) in My Recipes view.

UPDATE: Added 2.3.12 update with a new option for printing from your browser.  Set the new option under Options->Reports at the top of the dialog.  Also this has fixes for the crashing issue some users experienced editing profiles/ingredients

These are currently in beta test but so far testing has been positive so I'm opening them up for open beta test.

Please post a note here if you find specific issues with this build.

I got it to work by setting another gtk font and change gtk-2 theme in the kde settings.

HOWTO in KDE:
System Settings | Application Style | GNOME Application Style (GTK)

Choose an GTK2-Theme and Font.
I selected "Breeze" as theme and "Ubuntu 10" as font.

Thanks,
If you have the exact steps please post them in case someone else has the problem under KDE.

I'm still experiencing trouble with getting reports to print without cutting off the right side and the bottom.  I've attached a pdf as an example of what's happening.

Check the scaling you are using as a default in Internet Explorer or Safari as well. BeerSmith uses these as a plugin for printing and if you have the scaling size set very large in IE, Edge or Safari it will result in a printout as you describe.

The garbled calendar bug from 2.3.7 is fixed! Thank you sir! Your constant support is amazing.

The new scaling feature doesn't scale the tables in the brewsteps report. Everything else gets smaller (beer name, header info, etc.) but not the tables that contain ingredients, mashing steps, fermentation ingredients, etc - therefore, information is cut off. See attached pdf
I've searched for "default scaling" settings in Safari, the only thing I could find is the print preset, which I reduced drastically but it didn't change anything.

Thanks,
I just posted a fix for the Mac versions scaling so the ingredient tables would also scale properly (download file names have a 9a now).  The links were updated above so download the new links if you want to have the entire report scale properly.  It was a minor fix - forgot to update a style file:

Hi!

If I rename a recipe in the folder (not inside the recipe) and decide to not rename it I get an error box, see attached files.

Using Debian 8
Beersmith 2 v 2.3.9
BeerSmith-2.3.9_14_amd64.deb -- Older Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

The Windows version still crashes when editing a profile and trying to save.

I'm on Windows 10, 2.3.9 Beta, adding a Grainfather profile and then trying to edit the batch volume from 6.08 to 6.0 and then clicking on OK.

"Beersmith 2 has stopped working."

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I've not been able to resolve that issue as it is only occurring on a small percentage of machines.  In fact one user had the problem but solved it by upgrading his windows drivers.

However there is a workaround:
  - Go to Options->Look and Feel
  - Halfway down on the dialog, look for "Items" and set that option to "Open in New Tab"
  - Save the options and now try adding/editing ingredients and other items - they should open in a tab

Its not an ideal solution but should get you up and running until I can isolate the problem and fix it.

I didn't even notice a difference in the Look and Feel when I made the above change, to be honest.

Thanks for the quick response and work around.

After updating to Kubuntu 16.10 I get segmentation fault directly after start.
Regardless of what I do.
Have tested versions from 2.3.7 to 2.3.10.
Version 2.2.12 is working, but I really likes the new features in 2.3.

I've tried scaling to 65% in IE (as that's the print dialog box I get) and it still cuts off right and bottom. The only way I don't have it cut off is if I drag the margins over in preview. Then it only prints on a portion of the paper. Maybe I'm not in the default scaling you're talking about. How would I change the scaling?

In My Recipes view if you look at the preview window pane (lower half) there is a percentage there you can adjust which changes the font size for the report.  In addition I'm working on a new update shortly which will let you print to the browser which will give you better control over margins if needed.

I continue to have issues with getting scaling to work and I blame my very old custom report. All of the built in reports are fine. If someone would be good enough to post their custom report that scales correctly so that I can compare it with mine I would appreciate it. Thanks!

PS. I will attach mine in case anyone is interested in what doesn't work! ;-)
