Hi
My first ever batch of cider and it was looking and even tasting great, until I added some gelatin. This seems to have had exactly the opposite effect I was hoping for and it has turned horrible and milky. Did I add too much, or how long should it take for the muck to settle out?

In order for gelatin to work you need to drop the beer temperature as low as you can get it (within a couple of degrees of freezing) so the gelatin can settle to the bottom and pull all the other things down with it. I only tried gelatin once and was not impressed enough with the results to do it again.

Thanks GF. I'm going to battle to get it that chilled living where I do.
