So I just made my very first recipe essentially trying to plug in every assumption I could find in Brewing Classic Styles by Jamil, and I used his Strict Observance Triple. When I go to the brew timer it shows a mash and sparge? But I am only steeping my grains...
From John Palmer's book it instructs to steep grains for 30 minutes to avoid tannin extraction. This doesn't appear to be reflected in the recipe. I assume its a newbie mistake as I am both new to this software and a new brewer...but I've been doing my homework and I am ready to roll.
