To weld or not to weld.

That is the question.

I'm going to be picking up at least one, maybe two, 15 gallon kegs this week. I'll be converting them into a boil kettle and HLT, in that order (assuming I get two). I think I've been pretty much convinced to go with the stainless steel plumbing versus brass, but what I'm still up in the air about is whether to build my own weldless spigots, or to pony up the cash and have a close nipple welded in. I see advantages and disadvantages to both options. What say you, fellow brewers?
 
If you can get someone to do high-quality welding for you (or do it yourself), that's the way to go. If the welding is of unknown or poor quality, you'd be better off with high-quality weldless fittings.
