I've been brewing now for 20+ years & just started using the Beersmith software. I had been using Brewer's Workshop 4.0 since '95 but it no longer works with Win 7 so I had to make the jump. It's a nice program, but I'm finding that to keep my IBU values the same, the boiling times are drastically reduced. Not sure if this is due to the algorithm that was used in Workshop v. what is used in Beersmith.
All in all I don't think there will be too much of a change in my results, but since I haven't brewed a beer yet using the new software only time will tell.
