Does BeerSmith Calculate Efficiency?
« on: October 11, 2011, 01:21:05 PM »
I'm a rookie to BeerSmith and to all grain brewing.  I just did my first batch this Sunday and am trying to understand if BeerSmith calculates your efficiency?  I know you can enter what you would like your efficiency to be, but can it calculate if you achieved what you were aiming for?  By the way, efficiency baffles me a bit.

Hi,
If you go to the Mash Details for a given recipe you will see the estimates and measured values for mash efficiency.  The Fermentation tab shows actual/estimate for total brewhouse efficiency.  The "actuals" depend on you taking and entering your OG, FG and gravity into the boiler as well as related volumes to be accurate.
