Measurements for water salt additions
« on: November 28, 2011, 10:45:44 AM »
Yesterday I made a Honey Porter. I used RO water from the store. I used the water profile from BS. The profile I used was for London. I don't have a gram scale, which is the only measurement BS gives its measurements. I converted to ounces then to tsp. What a pain.  Do most homebrewers have a gram scale and if so what are your recommendations. Thanks.

Check Amazon. They sell many electronic scales for $10 or less. The "American Weigh Black Blade Digital Pocket Scale, 1000 by 0.1 G" seems to work well. It can weigh grain and water adjustment additions. I have no idea how accurate it is, but I'm able to relax and have a home brew while feeling as if I'm being precise enough!

Forget the triple conversion.

Remember the home brew.
