Are you living in the Portland, Oregon area?  Are you interested in brewing with other brewers in a joint barrell project?

We're looking for a few more brewers for our local homebrew club in Vancouver, WA to join us in a barrell project.  We are Cascadia Brewers Alliance.  We're doing two barrell brews.

The first barrell brew is for a 59 gallon Pinot Noir barrell.  We're brewing a Belgian Saison.  We'll rack it into the barrell after primary.  We've got 45 gallons of beer committed from 6 different brewers at the current time.  We need brewers for the remaining 20 gallons of Belgian Saison.  After the beer goes into the barrel, we'll sour it.  It will be in the barrell for a year or two.  Each brewer will receive the same amount of beer back from the barrell that he/she brewed.  It can either be bottled in your own bottles, or put into your own keg.

The second barrell brew is for a 53 gallon bourbon barrell.  We're brewing 30 gallons of Russian Imperial Stout and 30 gallons of a Concord Grape Belgian Strong Ale.  They will be blended 50/50 into the bourbon barrell.  Each brewer will receive the same amount of beer back that they brewed, same as the other barrel project.  We only need 5 gallons of Concord Belgian Strong for this project.  We already have commitments for 55 gallons from 7 different brewers.

We'll be having brew parties for each barrell at my home in mid-October to mid-November.  You can either brew at the brew party or brew at home on your own.

We'll then have Barrell days, after the beers have finished primary fermentation.

The cost is for the ingredients only for the amount of beer you'll be brewing.  We'll be making a bulk purchase from Baders Homebrew Supply in Vancouver, WA sometime around the middle of October.

If you join the project, you'll be supplied the recipe in Beersmith format for the beer style that you're brewing.

Please reply here, if you're interested.

An update.  We've picked up enough brewers for the RIS/Concord Belgian Strong barrell project.

We're still looking for brewers for our Saison barrell project.  We need 20 gallons for that one.
