Hi there, I have been home brewing for around 5 years now, mainly with Kits. I am going to do my first BIAB today (Pale Ale) and have just bought a copy of Beersmith.

I am also in the process of collecting gear to either build a RIMS or HERMS system, still undecided which way to go.

Go with BIAB first. No worries! Just good beer. Here is some help on "Brew in a bag" http://www.biabrewer.info
It's a cheaper and as good as any other method to brew beer. If you want to go "traditional" later on that's fine but why buy a more expensive setup and wish you hadn't?
