I’m happy to announce that my new BeerSmith Lite app on the Android platform is now available on Google Play and Amazon App Store. While you can’t create or edit recipes using the “lite” app, you can find new recipes from BeerSmithRecipes.com, download your own recipes from our cloud service, run a brewday timer, and use our reference and brewing calculators from within the app.
Get it on the Google Play (Android) Store!
Get it on the Amazon (Kindle Fire) App Store!
The iPhone and iPad versions of BeerSmith Lite for the Apple store are still awaiting approval and I have no firm release date as this process can take some time, but we will announce them here and also to my email list as soon as they are released.

Release date of the iPad/iPhone version will depend upon final approval by the Apple App store.
So, if we buy the “lite” version, will we have access to the full version when it is released? Or will we have to purchase that separately?
Works great on my Samsung 10.1 Tablet
The two (full and lite) will be separate purchases. While I would like to offer a discount or upgrade price I’ve not been able to find any mechanism in any of the app stores to support a discount for users of an existing app. If you just want the full app you should probably wait a few months for the full one.
Is there a price set for the full app yet?
Big Beer Smith user. Guess I have to wait for the full version. I was hoping this would be a sort of beta test. Like with most apps, lite is free and full is paid. Use the lite to gather users and work out the bugs.
You could make the upgrade to full version an in app purchase.
Not yet.
Brad,
I like the Lite App, but I encountered a problem yesterday. I built my recipe with the BeerSmith 2.1 Software, copied the recipe to the Cloud and then accessed via my mobile phone….
The problem is that the Mash schedule on the Lite App shows different nomenclature for the 2 step batch sparge for the recipe. In the case of my recipe it showed: (1.05 gal, 4.66 gal) whereas the 2.1 Software shows (1.05 gal, 3.61 gal)…..The Lite App is showing the TOTAL sparge volume as the second figure in parenthesis……needless to say, I did not hit my OG and wasn’t very happy when I found this out!
🙁 Mark
Hey Brad,
Thanks for all the hard work on these apps. I use it religiously to develop my recipe’s for our pilot system then scale up to our full production.
I just downloaded this lite version for an android tablet that we purchased. I was wondering an ETA on the full version for Android. It would be so much easier to have this little tablet than my laptop in the brewhouse.
Thanks in advance
